Winnie the Pooh is practically synonymous with childhood wonder. Those honey-loving adventures in the Hundred Acre Wood? Pure magic.
And guess what? That magic translates perfectly into a baby shower theme that’s both adorable and nostalgic.

The theme of the party is set with the invitations you send out. Fortunately, there are tons of great vintage Pooh invites!
Order and Handwrite
These are pre-printed invitations with all the design work done for you.
It’s pack of 20 fill-in-the-blank invitations includes diaper raffle cards, “books for baby” cards, AND thank-you cards! It’s from Amazon so you can get it shipped to you ASAP.
This Etsy seller will take all your party details, customize the invitation, and print and ship the invitations to you. It’s perfect if you don’t want to handwrite the deets but also don’t want to deal with editing a template!
Editable Templates
I have several classic Pooh designs in my shop that you can access as a template and edit to suit your needs! Anything about them can be changed. They all include “bring a book” cards and thank-you cards.
I hand-traced illustrations from the original book and used watercolors to make them pop.
After you edit them to include your details, you can have them printed professionally or print them on cardstock using your home printer!
Free Canva Template
To get you started with your Pooh baby shower, I’m offering one of my templates for free! It doesn’t include the reverse side or the extra cards, but you get the editable front-side template FREE!
Setting the Scene: Decorations & Ambience
Let’s create a baby shower vibe that’s buzzing with charm!
Your color palette should include vintage colors like pale yellow, grassy green, and cozy brown. But you can also incorporate pops of playful colors like orange and blue, inspired by unforgettable characters like Tigger and Eeyore.
Retail Staples
Who says adorable has to be complicated? Don’t underestimate the power of well-placed store-bought decorations.
Balloons
Classic Winnie the Pooh balloons in various colors and sizes (perfect for a balloon arch) are a no-brainer. Mix in some mylar balloons for an extra touch of festivity.
Banner
Whether you hang a large sheet-style banner on the wall or have pennants hanging from strings, a banner adds to the party vibe and makes it clear what you’re celebrating.

Table Covers
Add to the decor and make cleanup easier with a single affordable piece! I highly recommend placing them not only on the food tables but the guest tables as well – because that’s where most of the crumbs land.
Party Bundles
I love it when I can knock out a lot of coordinating decor with a single purchase!
Check out this bundle listed at Walmart.com including a large cake topper, 12 cupcake toppers, party banners, and 18 balloons!
This tableware set serves 30 guests (with extra napkins!) and goes well with the above decor set:
I prefer brighter colors (obviously), so the set below calls to me the most. It serves 25 and includes spoons and knives if your food choices require those!
DIY Decor
Channel your inner child and get crafty! Here are some ideas to get your creative honey pot flowing.
Streamers
You’ll see streamers at every party I throw. They are by far the cheapest way to make a big visual impact (it just takes some patience to hang them).
For the classic Pooh theme, these three colors from Walmart are what I’d choose.
Tissue Paper Pom Poms
Tissue paper is super cheap (especially when purchased in large quantities) and you can turn it into just about anything.
This Amazon pack includes the perfect colors for a classic Pooh baby shower. Follow this tutorial to make your own tissue paper pom poms!
Hanging Honeybees
Cut out honeybee shapes from construction paper and string them together for a bee-autiful garland, or hang them individually from the ceiling throughout the room. Get a template and walkthrough here!
Printable DIY
My shop features a whole collection of editable classic Winnie-the-Pooh baby shower printables!
You can customize your own welcome sign, pennant banner, water bottle labels, frameable signs, and more. They all go well with any of my invitation designs above.
DIY Centerpieces
No tablescape is complete without a charming centerpiece! Here are some ideas to inspire you.
Floating Plushies
Balloons (and characters floating away with them) have always been a big part of Winnie the Pooh. Recreate the look with a sturdy planter or wooden crate filled with sand, a wooden post, your choice of stuffed animal, and a helium balloon on a string!
Secure the post in the container, strap the plushie to it so it appears to be hanging onto something with one arm, and tie a floating balloon to its hand. Too cute!
You can get the classic plushes of Tigger, Eeyore, Piglet, and Pooh here.
Need to do it cheaper? Use small, simple bases and these printed cutouts of the characters attached to the balloons!
Hunny Pots
You can DIY a cute honey pot for your tables in a couple of ways. The first is really simple: write “HUNNY” on the side of a terra cotta planter in fat black marker, then heavily apply yellow acrylic paint to the rim so that it drips down the sides.
You can fill it with flowers, small stuffed animals, or honey dippers!
Another cute method would be to grab cheap vases from Dollar Tree or Walmart in various sizes, wrap them in craft rope, and hot glue these adorable felt bees to the sides. Then fill the vases with real or silk flowers!
Premade Centerpieces
If you’re running short on time (or just have too many tables to make a centerpiece for each one), these are great buys for decorating your dining area.
Honeycomb Illustrations
Classic images of Pooh characters sit on top of honeycomb stands (how apropos), each piece sitting about 8 inches tall.
Baby Blocks
While pricey, these adorable baby blocks from Etsy are high-quality and have an open top for placing flowers, river rocks, or small plushies inside. They’ll also make great nursery decor after the shower!
Food & Drinks for Rumbly Tumblies
We can’t have a baby shower without delicious food and drinks, and with a Pooh theme, we can get creative and have some fun with it.
Pooh Pun Food Items
Forget boring finger foods – we’re going all out with Pooh-inspired names that are as cute as they are tasty.
Brunch-Friendly Foods
- Pooh Honey Buns: A baby shower is one party that’s often held earlier in the day, even at brunch. Honey buns would make a perfect food item in that scenario (and hygienic, since you can get pre-wrapped ones).
- Eeyore’s English Muffins: Carry on the brunch theme with build-your-own breakfast sandwiches!
- Honeycomb Waffles: Ever notice how those toaster-oven frozen waffles resemble honeycombs? Add them to the morning menu!
- Tigger’s Toaster Strudel: Bonus points if you decorate them with orange and black frosting stripes.
Food for the Afternoon
- Pooh’s PB&J (or Pizza): For your main food, these great choices allow the lead character to be incorporated into the name’s alliteration.
- Piglets in a Blanket: Don’t think too hard about the implications of this title. Because who doesn’t love pigs in a blanket?
- Heffalump Droppings: You, the mom-to-be, and your guests will need to have a very good sense of humor for this food tag. But… it would be perfect for BBQ meatballs. Especially “hunny” BBQ.
- Christopher’s Crisps: Crisps = the British word for chips. And Pooh was written by an Englishman, so this pun is perfect.
- Tigger Tails: It’s not a good party if I can’t devise a
reasonpun for Cheeto puffs on the menu. But this would also work well for orange-chocolate-covered pretzel rods! - Parts of Eeyore’s House: These can be regular pretzel sticks, churros, or any long finger food.
- Christopher Robin’s Eggs: For deviled eggs. Get it? Robin’s… eggs. (Dye the whites blue for added effect!)
- Rabbit’s Veggies: That anxiety-riddled rabbit is very proud of his garden, so naturally, the veggies should be named for him. Rather have fruit? Change it to Rabbit’s Carrots and make it orange-chocolate-covered strawberries!
Casual Sweets
- Owl’s Oreos: Hoot hoot! Simple handheld sweets that don’t destroy anyone’s appetite for the main cake are great choices.
- Hunny Bears: For a simple bowl of honey-flavored Teddy Grahams!
- Kanga’s Candies: Little bowls of M&Ms and Skittles are always a big hit with sweet-toothed grazers.
- Honey Pot Treats: Since it wouldn’t be a Pooh party without a touch of honey sweetness, set out mini honey pots filled with honey and yogurt or honey-glazed candies.
Pretty Punches
- Piglet’s Pink Punch: The easiest way to make a tasty pink punch is to add a quart of raspberry sherbet to every 2 liters of lemon-lime soda (like Sprite).
- Lumpy’s Lemonade: Test your guests’ knowledge of deep-cut Pooh trivia with this one. (Spoiler: Lumpy is a baby heffalump!) You can add a little purple food coloring to your lemonade to match Lumpy’s lavender hue or leave it yellow to fit the party’s palette.
- Tigger’s Tea: It’s not a punch, but I’m from the South, so every party has sweet tea at the beverage station.
Make sure you grab my Pooh-themed editable food cards for labeling each item you serve at the baby shower!
Cake & Dessert Table
Let’s create a dessert table that’s as delightful as Pooh is after a pot of honey! Here, the cake will take center stage and we’ll surround it with a variety of bite-sized treats perfect for satisfying sweet tooths.
Ideas for the Main Cake
A Cake You Can Definitely DIY
These days, the easiest way to make your own good-looking cake is to bake and frost it in whatever flavors you want, then add a cute printed cake topper attached to food-safe dowels stuck into the top.
Grab this cute printable topper from my shop! It’s designed to print clearly up to 8 inches wide.
If you have a Cricut or other cutting machine, just upload the PNG file and use the Print-Then-Cut feature for a nice, close cut. Otherwise, there is a PDF you can print and hand-cut.
You don’t even have to have a cake topper, though. If you want to write a cute phrase on a sheet cake, I have some cute Pooh-related suggestions!
Ideas for a Pro Baker
- Pooh & Friends: A classic two-tier cake decorated with fondant figures of Pooh, Piglet, Tigger, and Eeyore. You can even personalize it with the mom-to-be’s favorite obscure Pooh character!
- Honeycomb Haven: Opt for a beautiful cake with cascading layers decorated with honeycombs and accented with fondant bees and sunflowers for a touch of elegance.
- Honey Pot Surprise: This playful cake is shaped like a giant honey pot, complete with sculpted bees. For an extra surprise, fill the center with an assortment of delicious cupcakes or cake pops.
Bite-Sized Inspo
Surround your main cake with an array of adorable and delicious mini desserts:
- Honeycomb Cookies: Did you know pressing clean bubble wrap into sugar cookie dough makes it look just like honeycombs? Grab the recipe here!
- Pooh Bear Cupcakes: Decorate cupcakes with simple frosting Pooh faces. And you simply must display them on this amazing cupcake stand made from wood slices!
- Hunny Pot Cake Pops: Drizzle yellow melted chocolate over chocolate-drenched cake pops for a simple honey pot style.
Fun Activities & Games
We’ve got the ambience covered, and our guests’ tummies are happy. Now it’s time for some fun and games! Here are some ideas to keep the shower guests entertained, all with a delightful Pooh twist.
Printables and Creation Stations
You’re in luck because I have a huge collection of printable baby shower games and activities in the classic Pooh theme! They feature dozens of hand-traced and watercolored images from the original book.
You can download some of them for free here, or get the complete bundle of 38 games from my shop!
These are some of my favorite games and activities from the bundle:
- Guess the “Pooh”: Guests must analyze – and sniff – melted chocolate bars inside baby diapers to figure out which candy brands they are!
- Don’t Say Baby: Everyone starts the party with a little clothespin clipped to their shirts, but if someone catches them saying “baby”, that person gets to steal it! The person with the most clothespins at the end wins.
- Baby Bingo: My blank bingo card allows guests to fill in their guesses on what mom-to-be will open before marking off the gifts as they’re revealed. And it features an adorable honeypot as the free center space.
- Beehive Maze: In perfect harmony with the Pooh theme, the maze is shaped like a honeycomb and guests must lead Pooh to the beehive for more honey!
Party Favors & Take-Home Treats
As the shower winds down, you want to send your guests off with a little something to remember the day by. Here are some adorable Pooh-themed favors that are both thoughtful and practical.
Individual Honey Jars
These miniature jars from Etsy include customized labels and honey dippers. Fill them with local honey for a delightful way to keep the Pooh theme going.
Honey Candies
These bite-sized treats are not only delicious but perfect for the Pooh theme. Grab as many as you need from this Etsy shop!
Mini Honey Soap Bars
For a luxurious touch, opt for mini honey soap bars. They’re a practical favor that guests can enjoy long after the shower. This Etsy seller has them packaged and ready to hand out, saving you lots of time!
Pooh Bear Macarons
Fancy sugar cookies are great, but they’re done a lot. For a baby shower, little individually wrapped macarons are the perfect sweet treat for guests to take home and enjoy. You can get a set of Pooh face, honey pot, and honey bee macarons from this Etsy seller.
Traditional Gift Ideas
A baby shower is all about celebrating the mama-to-be and showering her with love (and gifts, of course!). Here are some Pooh-inspired ideas to make her feel extra special:
The Diaper Cake
Diaper cakes are a baby shower staple. They serve as a focal point while being a useful gift!
Made for You
This done-for-you diaper cake is absolutely adorable. You can get it with or without the beehive addition and wood slice base!
DIY Diaper Cake
If you’re familiar with diaper cake creation and just need some inspo for decorating one, here are some of my best finds!
- 2.5” burlap ribbon to wrap around a layer or two
- Faux sunflowers to stick in between diapers, or pop off the flowers to attach to the ribbon
- Classic Pooh die-cuts for additional decorating
- Honey pot and bee die-cuts that match
Start by simply assembling your diaper cake, wrap ribbon around the layers as you see fit, and pop in the extra details until you’re happy with the results!
Pooh-Themed Purchases
- Grab-and-Go Bag: For a quick trip to the store that doesn’t require the BIG diaper bag, this adorable honeypot Loungefly crossbody is great for holding a few diapers, a pack of wipes, and some snacks.
- Pooh Bear Nursery Decor: From crib sheets adorned with Pooh characters to a plush mobile hanging over the crib, there’s plenty of Pooh-themed nursery decor to choose from.
- Pooh Bear Bath Time Fun: Make bath time a playful adventure with a Pooh-shaped hooded towel or gentle baby wash and shampoo formulated with honey (but gentle enough for newborns, of course!).
- Classic Pooh Books: What better way to bond with baby than by reading them the tales of Pooh and his friends? A beautifully illustrated copy of the classic Winnie the Pooh books is a timeless gift that will be cherished for years to come.
These are just a few ideas to get you started. The most important thing is to choose gifts that are thoughtful and practical for the mama-to-be and her new arrival.
Optional Fun Touches
We’ve covered everything from decorations to games, but these special touches will truly set your Pooh-themed baby shower apart.
Dress Code for the Hundred Acre Wood
Encourage your guests to embrace the theme! A casual dress code with a suggestion to wear Pooh-inspired colors (think yellows, greens, and blues) or Pooh-bear-themed accessories (like headbands with ears or necklaces with honey pot charms) will add a playful touch to the celebration.
You can even go for a casual 1920s theme in honor of when Pooh Bear’s first book was published!
Capture the Memories with a Photo Backdrop
What baby shower is complete without a photo station? Hang this beautiful backdrop featuring the Hundred Acre Wood.
Set out a basket filled with props like Pooh Bear ears, a giant honey pot, and a Tigger tail. Guests will be snapping photos and creating memories that will last a lifetime.
The Soundtrack to a Pooh-tiful Day
No party is complete without the perfect playlist. Create a Pooh Bear playlist to set the mood. Include classic songs from the Winnie the Pooh movies like “Winnie the Pooh” and “The Wonderful Things About Tiggers” alongside upbeat children’s songs or calming instrumental music. The vibe is up to you!
Congratulations on planning a baby shower that’s sure to be a delightful celebration! With these ideas, you’ve got all the ingredients to throw a shower that’s sweeter than honey and filled with memories that will be cherished for years to come.
