It’s time to announce your pregnancy to your closest friends and family, and you want to do it in person. After all, your mom doesn’t want to find out you’re expecting through Facebook like everybody else. Why not put a pregnancy announcement wine label over her favorite bottle to share the good news?
To make it easy, I’ve designed several pregnancy announcement labels that are printable at home. One is ready-to-go, others can be customized, and there’s even a coupon code below to get a FREE pregnancy announcement wine label from my shop! How cool is that?
Not sure how to use them? At the bottom I’ll discuss how to DIY these pregnancy announcement wine bottle labels. Your friends and family will be so impressed as well as excited about your pregnancy!
How do you announce a pregnancy with wine?
While it may be ironic to make your baby announcement with alcohol (since you shouldn’t really have any), for most people, drinking is still a normal way to celebrate good news.
Giving a bottle of wine or champagne with a special label that declares you’re expecting is a really creative way to announce your pregnancy. It’s particularly a great way to announce a pregnancy on Thanksgiving, when plenty of people are gathered to share the wine! But they can be used any time for the wine lovers among your friends and family.
One way to announce a pregnancy with wine is to invite the recipients over for dinner. While at the table, open the bottle and pour them each a glass, then casually put the bottle down on the table and wait for them to notice what the label says!
You can also just gift the person a bottle of wine at any time. Head on over to their house or bring the bottle to work with you (if it’s for a coworker or your boss), tell them you were thinking of them, and hand them the bottle. The first thing they’ll do is look to see what kind of wine it is. While they might not find that out right away, they’ll learn something even more exciting!
Grandparent Announcement Wine Labels
Custom wine bottles really make a classy, great pregnancy announcement for grandparents. They may not care for sentimental knick-knacks or have room for another coffee mug or t-shirt, but a bottle of wine that can be beautifully photographed and consumed is just right.
I’ve got two different options below – one that can be customized, and one that is already ready to print.
The Best Parents Get Promoted to Grandparents Wine Label
This wine bottle pregnancy announcement is both flattering and overwhelming. You’re telling your parents they’re awesome while also telling them they’ll soon have a grandbaby! The white roses and refined text really make it look like an elegant bottle of wine at first glance.
Pairs Well with Becoming Grandparents
Sommeliers are always looking for great flavors to pair with their preferred wines. Let your parents know that this bottle goes with a very specific event! The text is simple, uncluttered, and sends the message loud and clear.
Drink This for Me, I’m a Mommy to Be
When it comes to pregnancy, wine is not on the menu for most expecting mothers. But that doesn’t mean we should deny that indulgence to those around us, does it? Help those closest to you celebrate with this sweet pregnancy announcement wine label featuring crossed stalks of wheat.
(Did you know that way back in the day, women would pee on wheat as a pregnancy test? Quickly sprouting seeds indicated they were pregnant!)
Poppin’ Bottles Pregnancy Announcement
This makes a great label for a champagne baby announcement as well as for wine.
While the other labels featured here are fairly simple and therefore easy to print without using a lot of ink, this one is a little bit fancier (as is champagne). Gold circles adorn the edges alongside baby bottles.
This is a great pun on baby bottles vs. wine bottles!
It also works well for a New Year’s pregnancy announcement.
Custom Wine Labels for Pregnancy Announcement
Baby on the Way
This wine label has a super classic, simple design. It draws attention right away to what it’s trying to say, so no one is in danger of merely glancing over the important message of the wine bottle. Order your pregnancy announcement wine label printable from our shop!
Babyfeet Wine Label
Barefoot wine is one of the most popular brands available, because it tastes good and is very affordable. (Don’t let anyone tell you it’s bad because it’s cheap. I dealt with someone like that, and she couldn’t tell the difference in a blind taste test!)
This custom pregnancy announcement wine label mimics Barefoot’s own label, except now it’s about “baby feet” and “oh so sweet”! A cute pair of baby footprints with hearts replaces the single, inky footprint on the original brand.
Free Pregnancy Announcement Wine Label
The headline is clear: you can’t drink the wine. But will they figure out why before their eyes roam down to the “We’re Expecting” stamp on the bottom?
Just for my readers, I’ve decided to give away this customizable wine label for FREE! Just use the coupon code WINELOVERS in the Bright Color Mom Shop after adding the “You Print AND Edit” option to your cart.
(If you want me to customize the wine label for you, that’s no problem – this coupon will get you half off!)

How to Make a Pregnancy Announcement Wine Label
Putting a custom label on a bottle of wine isn’t as difficult as you might think. While you could just slap these labels directly on top of whatever label the bottle already has, it’ll look much nicer if you remove the original label first.
These are the simple steps you need to take to make your wine bottle gifts look amazing:
- Buy your (or your recipients’) favorite bottles of wine. If already chilled, let them get to room temperature for the purpose of attaching a new label.
- Print out your wine labels. These waterproof labels are meant for putting on wine bottles and are the exact size of my wine label designs!
- In your sink or a bucket, add half a cup of Oxi-Clean or baking soda and fill it up with enough warm water to cover the bottle’s label completely. Stir the water well, then let the bottle soak in it for at least 45 minutes.
- Gently peel the existing label off. If it doesn’t come off easily, you can soak it even longer. Once removed, you may need to use a product like Goo Gone to remove the remaining goo and sticky residue.
- After you’ve dried the bottle, hold it securely in a way that leaves your hands free to hold the label. The easiest way to do this is by sitting on the floor and holding the wine bottle between your feet or legs so it doesn’t move.
- Peel your printed label away from the backing, then carefully hold it over the center of the bottle’s body. You can start from one side and slowly smooth it across to the other, or you could try laying the center of it down first to ensure it’s straight, then carefully smooth it out from the center to the sides. If you get a bubble or a wrinkle, immediately (but carefully!) pull the label back up to smooth it out before continuing.
- Voila! You have a beautiful, customized pregnancy announcement wine bottle.
Also, if none of my designs are quite what you’re looking for, you could always design one yourself! You can find lots of pregnancy announcement wine label ideas on Pinterest, Etsy, and even Amazon Homemade. Use your imagination and get creative!
I usually like to design simple projects like this in free or cheap online editing software, like Canva. I use their Pro subscription, which is super cheap and includes tons of great features. But you could easily get it done with only the free version as well.
Once you’ve created your design, just export it as a PDF Printable (or a PNG image to insert in your label printing software or Word template), print it on label paper made for wine bottles, and apply it the same way as outlined above! Easy peasy.
