If you’re having trouble coming up with Father’s Day questions to ask the dad in your life OR his kids, look no further!
I’ve put together a ton of questions to ask a child for Father’s Day, as well as questions to ask Dad himself!
It can be hard to find a nice gift for Father’s Day. After all, a guy can only use so many ties and coffee cups.
Asking these questions can help create a really fun, memorable day that’s better than any tangible gift.
This is a great Father’s Day activity for church, too, since most children aren’t in kindergarten or elementary school by mid-June to make crafts for their dads.
There’s a beautiful, free printable Father’s Day questionnaire further down that you and your children can fill out together ahead of time and present to him on the big day.
I filled one out with my kids, and even recorded a video of them answering some Father’s Day questions so he can relive the moment forever!
Looking for questions to ask your kids about Grandpa for Father’s Day? I’ve got you covered there, too. The printable below also includes a “Grandpa” version!
And they can ask their grandfather any of the interview questions to learn more about him as well.
Father’s Day Questions for Kids
These questions for Father’s Day are all about Dad – from your child’s point of view.
For older kids, they’re really “how well do you know your dad” questions, and they can be hard!
It might make them realize they need to spend more time getting to know their dad (and the interview questions below will help).
For younger kids, they’re mostly a great way to crack everyone up. Because as we all know, kids say the darndest things.
These aren’t even intentionally funny Father’s Day questions – it’s just that little kids rarely get the answers right!
They’re all really simple questions to ask kids about Daddy that most toddlers and kids three and up will be able to provide reasonable answers for.
Here’s a tip, though: take care not to prompt your kids with an answer or coach them into saying what you want them to.
Trust me, whatever they come up with on their own is going to be funny.
If you’d like to write down your kids’ answers to these questions on a nice printable, check out the free download below!

Printable Father’s Day Questionnaire for Kids PDF
I’ve used some of the queries above to make a printable Father’s Day questionnaire for preschool kids and older, but the younger your kids are, the funnier their answers tend to be.
There are two versions of the questionnaire – one about Dad, and one about Grandpa.
I’ve also included a bonus sheet to go with each one so your child to draw a picture of themselves with their daddy or pappaw (that’s what we call grandfathers here in Kentucky).
To get your free printables filled with questions for you or your kids to fill out, just submit the form below!
Whether it’s you or your child filling out the sheet, make sure you don’t rush them through it. They should have fun doing it, so give them plenty of time to move at their own pace.
