I love creating holiday-themed printable worksheets for my kids. Learning (and playing) is a lot more fun when it’s in anticipation of a special day to come! This year, I created a Halloween maze printable worksheet set fit for all types of kids’ skill sets. (Frankly, I have no idea how good my kids are at doing mazes, so I want to have my bases covered.)
There are some basic rectangular mazes (I call them “this to that” mazes where you start as one thing and end up as another on the other side!), but there are also mazes in the shape of Halloween classics like a witch’s hat and a haunted house. I’m so happy to be sharing them with you guys!
What age range are these mazes for?
I created these mazes with children in mind. That being said, I created a wide variety of mazes from beginner (easy) to medium to hard/difficult. You could use some of these printable mazes for 4-year-old preschoolers, and others are appropriate all the way up to a 4th-grade level and beyond.
I recommend printing out some of these Halloween maze worksheets on paper and trying them yourself to get an idea of whether your child will be able to finish it without too much frustration.
What skills do printable mazes work on?
There are a surprising number of excellent learning opportunities for young children who complete mazes! Some of them are:
- problem-solving and strategizing
- fine motor control (drawing the maze route)
- visual-motor skills (scanning ahead to determine the best route)
- hand-eye coordination
- patience
- persistence
- the gratification of completing a puzzle
This-to-That Halloween Mazes for Kids
I like to create a variety of printables when working on a project because I never know what’s going to appeal to my kids the most. First, I created these five simple this-to-that maze worksheet designs:
Each of these mazes starts on the left and ends on the right. You’ll “start” as one type of Halloween icon and end with another! It’s either a transformation at the end of the maze or trying to match a creature with their beloved object or place.
My this-to-that puzzles include:
- bat to vampire
- ghost to haunted house
- witch to cauldron
- spider to web
- trick-or-treater kids to candy!
Beyond that, I also decided to create each puzzle in four different difficulties. I have a 3-year-old and an almost 6-year-old starting kindergarten, and I wanted them both to be able to try these mazes without it being too hard or too easy.
So for each this-to-that Halloween maze printable, you have mazes that are:
- easy
- medium
- hard
- super hard*
*By super hard, I mean hard for a young child. An average 10-year-old should still be able to complete it without too much trouble.
I wanted to offer a FREE Halloween maze printable to you, so I put together a free download of all five easy-level Halloween designs in a PDF! Just print them out on regular paper (they can be in color or black-and-white) and let your kids have some fun while practicing new skills.

Premium Halloween Maze Printable Worksheets
Of course, I didn’t stop at making some simple rectangular mazes. I had to get creative! So I also designed five different premium mazes in different Halloween-themed shapes, including:
- an eyeball
- a ghost
- a haunted house
- a jack-o-lantern
- a witch’s hat
I love these mazes the most! They were really challenging and fun to make, and they also look SO COOL. Some are circular, the hat is a triangle, the haunted house is a rectangle, and the ghost is literally entirely in the shape of a ghost!
These mazes may look really hard compared to the this-to-that mazes, but they’re really not that bad. I’d compare them to the Hard and Super-Hard levels, but older kids should still be able to finish them if given enough time and encouragement.
You can get all five of these special mazes, as WELL as all of the this-to-that mazes in all four difficulty levels, all in one bundle! That’s 25 total mazes for your kids to have fun with at a super-low price!
You’ll also get an image pack of every single maze with the solution drawn on it, in case you and your kiddo both happen to get stuck in a puzzle! And every purchase helps keep Bright Color Mom online, and I LOVE providing free content as much as possible.
Which of the maze designs above is YOUR favorite? (I’m partial to the jack-o-lantern – making them with my family is one of my favorite Halloween traditions.)
Did you find the mazes too easy, or a little harder than you expected? Let me know in the comments below!
Booing the neighbors is another fun activity you can do with your kids that will also teach them a lesson about giving over receiving. (That’s right, Christmas isn’t the only holiday that can help with that!)
So cute and love the difficulty level
